Our Rotary club invites you to join your friends and neighbors in displaying the American flag on the 5 major holidays of Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Veteran's Day. The flag program gives Duncanville residents an opportunity to show their pride and love for our country. It gives our community a great patriotic spirit and at the same time helps so many people in our city. This is a service project of the Duncanville Rotary Club. Rotarians are dedicated businessmen and women, active and retired, who provide humanitarian service to people throughout the world and in the local community. The proceeds are used to support the following Rotary service projects: Literacy programs, the DISD Foundation, teacher and student recognition, scholarships, scouting, the Duncanville Outreach Ministry, the Rotary youth leadership camps of Camp Enterprise and RYLA, Inbound and Outbound Youth Exchange programs, school supplies for DISD students, ESA Cancer Walk, Special Olympics, Project Graduation, Rotary Park Improvements and many more worth while projects. There are two options for participating in the flag program: 1. We will place a PVC plastic sleeve in the ground 15" from your front sidewalk or curb and mark the curb. On the 5 holidays, a 3' x 5' United States flag, mounted on a 10' metal pole, is placed in the sleeve. The flag goes up at dawn and is taken down about sunset. We do all the work for you. We display and store the flags. The flags and the sleeves remain the property of the Duncanvile Rotary Club. There are no brackets or fixtures attached to your home. 2. Instead of, or in addition to placing a flag on your property you can choose to sponsor a flag(s) on City property. We have 111 flags on City properties. The cost is the same as a home flag but we place listings of sponsors in the entrance to City Hall and the Library for visitors to see on the days before and after a recognized holiday. We note on these listings why the flag(s) is being sponsored e.g. in recognition, memory or honor of a family member or friend. This is a great opportunity for local businesses to be recognized for supporting our city and Rotary.

If you sign up in the middle of the year you will have missed some of the first holidays. You will only be charged $7.00 per holiday for the remaining holidays of that year. The following year you will be billed for the whole season and the $35.00 for the 5 holidays on an annual basis. To save time and to serve as many people as possible, we would like to bill you annually beginning in the spring before Memorial Day.
